Marvin R. LeRoy, Jr.

Advisor, Nonprofit Strategy & Philanthropic Leadership

Marvin R. LeRoy, Jr. is a distinguished nonprofit executive, educator, and strategist with more than 40 years of leadership experience across the philanthropic, education, health, human services, and arts sectors. Over the course of his career, Marv has strengthened the missions of dozens of organizations and played a pivotal role in securing more than $500 million in funding for transformative community initiatives.

Marv’s work spans executive management, development strategy, legislative engagement, and organizational planning. He has served in professional, volunteer, and consulting capacities, offering guidance that blends mission alignment with pragmatic, sustainable growth. His commitment to strengthening the third sector extends into the classroom, where he serves as an adjunct professor in the Institute for Higher Education Leadership at the College of St. Rose, teaching future leaders in fundraising, strategy, and public affairs.

He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Siena College, an M.P.A. from Sage Graduate School, and graduate certificates in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University’s School of Philanthropy and in Executive Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.

Beyond the nonprofit sector, Marv served four elected terms as Town/County Supervisor in Saratoga County, NY, and held a board officer role at Mohawk Community Bank. In 2021, he was honored with induction into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, recognizing his contributions to the community and the sport.

Marv’s decision to found the Institute reflects his enduring belief in the power of the nonprofit community—and his conviction that many organizations have untapped potential awaiting the right strategic support and resources.
